Artists of the Brest Region
Biographies, works and introductory essays from the 2002 album-catalogue
This section is based on the second, enlarged edition of the album-catalogue "Artists of the Brest Region" (2002). It brings together several generations: the founders of the Brest regional branch of the Belarusian Union of Artists, war veterans, masters whose works are kept in the National Art Museum, and young artists who were just starting out.
Each artist has a page with the biography from the album and the work presented in the catalogue. Works are grouped by art form, and artists by the towns where they lived and worked.

Easel painting is the most widely represented art form in the album: landscape, portrait, still life, genre and historical painting.
Watercolour
Watercolour is valued in the Brest region for its transparency and lightness: both landscape painters of the older generation and young artists work in this technique.

Sculpture
Easel and monumental sculpture in stone, wood and metal, from chamber pieces to memorials in the towns of the region.
