Nikolay Kuzmich

Born on November 28th, 1950 in the village of Patriki of Brest Region (Belarus). Graduated from the Minsk Art School named after A.K. Glebov (1982). Works in the field of the jewelry art in the technique of hot enamels. Since 1983 he is a participant of art exhibitions. In 1993-2001 he worked at the reconstruction of the Cross of Efrosiniya Polotskaya in her own image, as well as the stavrotheca to the Cross. He has revived the technique of the ancient Byzantine cloisonne enamel of the 12th century. Together with A. Vasili'ev and T. Makarova he has published a monograph about Efrosiniya's Cross. The works are in museums of Belarus, Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Spain, USA and in private collections. A winner of the award «For Spiritual Revival» (1997), awarded the orders of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree and of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk, the medal of Prince Konstantin Ostrozhsky (Poland) and the BAU medal «For success in fine arts». The International Biographical Centre of Cambridge (Great Britain) included him in the list of the Man of the Century (1997). A winner of «Berasceiskaja zorka» - Man of the Year (1997). A member of the BAU since 1987. Lives in Brest.
