Hot summer

Hot summer

The painting “In the Summer Heat” recreates the atmosphere of estate life at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries, filled with elegance and lightness. At the center of the composition are two women in elegant dresses, riding horses — one white and one black — creating a harmonious contrast and sense of dynamism. Their figures seem to float in the rhythm of a summer day, while the light fabrics of their dresses and flowing ribbons convey movement and wind. The architectural silhouette of the manor in the background emphasizes the cultural context of the painting, linking the scene to the image of aristocratic tradition and gentry lifestyle. The artist aims not so much at portrait accuracy as at creating a symbol of carefreeness, youth, and the fullness of summer life. Soft blue and pastel tones of the sky and foliage generate an atmosphere of transparency and harmony, where nature itself becomes the backdrop for the “theater of life.”
