Kolomna. Chapel of Peter I
“Kolomna. Chapel of Peter I” is a landscape with architectural elements, in which the artist conveys the atmosphere of an ancient Russian town. In the foreground stands a massive old oak with a powerful, gnarled trunk, symbolizing time, roots, and continuity. Beyond it opens the view of a wooden chapel associated with the name of Peter I — a monument of antiquity, carrying historical and spiritual memory. The artist employs a somewhat cool, muted palette of late autumn or early spring: remnants of snow, bare trees, a gray sky. The combination of natural and architectural imagery creates the impression of a strong bond between history, faith, and the land
