«Winter — runaway» from Destiny series
The painting “Winter — Escape” from the series “Fate” is executed in a symbolic-realist manner and carries a powerful dramatic undertone. At the center of the composition lies snow-covered ground with deep footprints and tracks leading beyond the frame. Lines of barbed wire, a rusty post, and a torn sign intensify the feeling of prohibition and danger. The whiteness of the snow contrasts with the dark, cold background, creating the image of a tragic freedom gained at the cost of risk.
The work evokes associations with the theme of camps and the fate of prisoners, whose attempts to break free left behind only traces in the snow. The artist raises the theme of memory and responsibility, transforming the landscape into a metaphor of human destiny.
