Ascention of Christ. Temple in Cecyminie-Nowinach near Warsaw
“The Ascension of Christ” is a monumental mosaic placed on the façade of a church in Secymin-Nowiny near Warsaw. The central image depicts Christ in a radiant cloud, ascending upward with outstretched arms in a gesture of divine blessing and triumph. His figure, clothed in white and red garments, occupies the compositional center and symbolizes the union of the earthly and the heavenly. In the lower part are shown the apostles and witnesses of the miracle, overwhelmed and bowed before the vision. The composition is dynamic: the lines of the drapery and clouds lead the gaze upward, emphasizing the theme of ascension.
