Priestess
The painting “Priestess” is executed in watercolor and filled with the soft transparency of paints. In the foreground appear dark and bright patches of foliage — dense tree crowns shimmer with yellow-orange and burgundy tones, creating the impression of autumnal flame. In the depth of the composition, beyond the river, one can discern the white silhouette of a small town or monastic complex, standing out against the golden glow. The luminous distance seems to symbolize a spiritual center, while the darker framing landscape represents the path toward it. The artist creates a metaphor of the priestess — a mediator between the earthly and the heavenly, concealed within this mystical atmosphere.
