Narcissus

Narcissus

The sculpture “Narcissus” represents an abstract-symbolic embodiment of the mythological image, where form and void interact as equal elements of the composition. The white stone is worked in such a way that its surface combines smoothly polished areas with rough textures, creating a play of light and shadow. The plastic mass seems to twist inward, forming a closed shape that can be interpreted as a symbol of self-contemplation and enclosure. The inner openings and soft curves evoke associations with organic structures — a flower, a shell, or the human body. The sculpture’s monumentality and, at the same time, intimacy create a sense of philosophical depth: it is not a literal portrait of the mythological hero but a plastic metaphor of the state of self-immersion, reflecting the essence of the narcissistic gaze turned inward
