Girovicy
The painting “Zhirovichi” depicts a winter cityscape with a church at the center of the composition. The church building with its dome rises above the houses, symbolizing the spiritual heart of the place. Snowdrifts lie on rooftops and tree branches, emphasizing the graphic quality of the lines and creating an impression of freshness and silence. Houses, fences, and pathways are painted in warm ochre and reddish tones, which contrast with the cold whiteness of the snow and the blue sky. The composition is balanced: a tree in the foreground with its spreading branches frames the space, guiding the viewer’s gaze toward the church.
