Sunflowers

Sunflowers

The painting “Sunflowers” presents a decoratively generalized image of three flowers facing the viewer. The artist employs a bright, almost enamel-like palette: the saturated yellow petals and dense green leaves stand out against a red-violet ornamental grid, which gives the canvas the feel of a decorative fabric or stained glass. The silhouettes of the sunflowers are outlined with a bold contour, bringing the work closer to the traditions of Art Nouveau and post-impressionist stylistics. The composition is frontal and symmetrical, so the flowers are perceived as symbols of the sun, radiating warmth and energy. At the same time, the decorative character of the image is combined with an immediate painterly expression that conveys the joy of contemplating nature. The work contains no naturalistic detailing — instead, the viewer is offered a symbolic image of life force and sunlight
