Farm in the evening
The painting “Evening at the Manor” conveys the atmosphere of a rural estate enveloped in soft evening light. The composition reflects the artist’s intent to capture the transitional state of nature — from the brightness of day to the contemplation of evening.
The foreground is occupied by a meadow where golden and bluish brushstrokes echo each other, creating a play of light and shadow. A light painterly vibration is achieved through pastose, broken strokes reminiscent of impressionist techniques. In the middle ground stand trees — their crowns slightly bent, as if touched by a gentle breeze. On the right, the dark silhouettes of the manor’s buildings emerge, sinking into shadow.
The color palette is built on the contrast between the vivid sky, saturated with ultramarines and whites, and the land illuminated in golden tones. Overall, the painting breathes serenity, conveying harmony between man and nature.
