Carrying the wounded bird
The painting “Carrying the Wounded Bird” is executed in an expressive manner, where light and shadow become the main means of expression. The composition is immersed in a dark, dramatic palette, within which two figures can be discerned — a human and a bird. The human silhouette seems to emerge from the darkness, framed by sharp strokes of white and ochre, which emphasize the drama of the moment. The bird, perhaps a symbol of the soul or of hope, is wounded yet preserved and supported by the hero’s hands.
