Overview of industrial pressure transducers, thermometers, and moisture meters: working principles, applications, and features

DM, TB, VSN SERIES INSTRUMENTS

Among the wide range of control and measuring devices, automation tools for production processes, and laboratory equipment, a significant place is taken by various pressure transmitters, thermometers, and moisture meters.

1. PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS OF THE DM SERIES - DM 3583 M, DM 23578 (DD 41003), DM 23579 (DD 41004).

This type of measuring instrument is designed to measure the flow of liquids, gases, and steam (fresh and sea water, distillate, bidistillate, kerosene, diesel, marine fuel, diesel fuel, gasoline, lubricating oil, air, water vapor, helium, etc.) in various control and automation systems by converting pressure readings into a common mutual inductance signal with a linear correlation. These devices work by measuring pressure differences in narrowing devices, vacuum and overpressure values, or liquid levels based on hydrostatic pressure under atmospheric, vacuum, or excess conditions.
DM transmitters (only for explosion-proof environments!) are highly reliable and can operate under extreme conditions (tilts, vibrations, etc.).

2. BIMETALLIC DIAL THERMOMETERS OF THE TB SERIES (TB-1, TB-2, TB-1R, TB-2R, TB-1S, TB-2S, TB-1RS, TB-2RS, TB-1SD, TB-2SD).

TB thermometers are used to measure the temperature of media in fixed technical installations at any industrial site, including nuclear power plants.
The device consists of a thermal bulb connected to a display unit. The bulb is a tube with a bimetal spring inside that reacts to temperature changes within a specific range. A pointer is rigidly attached to the spring and rotates left or right depending on how the spring coils or uncoils with temperature changes. The pointer shows the temperature on a graduated scale.

3. CRUDE OIL MOISTURE METERS OF THE VSN SERIES.

These instruments are used to measure the water content in crude oil.
There are lab-type moisture meters for analyzing oil samples and inline moisture meters (also called commercial oil moisture meters) installed directly in oil pipelines or refining equipment. Depending on the model, VSN meters can be laboratory (VSN-1L) or inline (VSN-2-50). They work on the same principle: the device measures the electrical resistance of the oil-water emulsion passing through the sensor, which changes depending on the amount of water in the oil.
