Monkey
The sculpture “Monkey” is executed in a realistic manner with elements of the grotesque. The figure depicts a seated animal in a contemplative pose: one hand supports its head, another holds an object resembling a book or a tablet, and in its paw there is also a bottle. The gestures and facial expression convey not only animalistic but also distinctly human traits — doubt, reflection, the search for meaning.
The sculpture carries a sense of philosophical irony: the monkey, as a symbol of the primate, here becomes a metaphor for human nature — inclined both to contemplation and to weakness.
