What to look for when hiring a quality renovation team.

We Renovate with Quality

One fine day many people make the inevitable decision to carry out renovations in their homes. And then a unique goal full of vital meaning arises in many of them: some people search among countless options for the perfect interior, others run in a sweat through wholesale building-material markets looking for quality parquet or wallpaper, and a few chosen ones pay a finishing crew and entrust their house for several weeks to a community of hardworking migrant laborers. For many people who have to do the repairs themselves (and there are very many) the authors of this article offer here a few useful tips.

How does one begin on this difficult path? First, we install sturdy steel doors and grilles at the entrance. It's best to step out onto the porch and look at your home with an impartial eye. The most noticeable thing that catches the eye is the front door. This element of the house has many indispensable functions. The cladding amazes passersby and friends, a good lock protects against intruders, and a well-made handle pleases the eye. The front metal door is the mirror of the house. Modern steel doors are the most reliable for protecting an entrance: various companies offer a wide range of such "protectors" for the most refined tastes. It should be noted that metal doors will provide excellent protection for your property, in some cases help prevent fire, preserve peace and warmth, and the vast choice of high-quality finishes will surprise even the most devoted lovers of beauty.

Owners of country houses also have problems that are peculiar only to them when it comes to finishing work. Here the ever-present utilities workers will not take care of the cleanliness of the yard and the pleasing, cohesive appearance of the entire dwelling. And the garage doors are due for replacement. Or at least a fresh coat of paint. What about renovating the attic? And if a summer terrace is attached to the country residence, its floor must be replaced from time to time, and here an expensive, high-quality terrace board made of valuable wood species is important. It also often happens that metal doors and garage doors for countryside residences built to a special design need to be of original dimensions and configurations. For the manufacturer this is an additional task, and it costs money. In that case you can only bite your elbows in envy of the carefree residents of apartment buildings.

Entering the apartment, you and your friends first take off your shoes (if, of course, your household respects cleanliness). What do visitors' eyes rest on here? Yes, precisely, we see the floor. But it will be addressed in due time; first, before the main work, it is necessary to remove from the house all the things that need to be replaced and clear the space for the forthcoming work. Finally, we remove the old wallpaper from the walls, take out worn-out window frames and doors, and floorboards. Sometimes, in addition, certain walls need to be demolished for later reconfiguration and the resulting construction debris removed. After these actions are completed, if it was part of your plans, the best windows and interior doors should be installed.

Then we begin preparing the appearance of the ceiling and walls for whitewashing and selecting the best wallpaper. All roughness must be removed with special finishing materials and putty. In some cases, because of excessively crooked load-bearing walls and slabs, at this stage, using a reserve budget, funds must be allocated for new materials such as gypsum board. Next the dwelling is ready for bringing the ceiling into proper condition and for wallpapering; now the kitchen, bathroom and toilet need to be fitted out.

Now it’s time for linoleum and parquet — parquet work. You might simply repaint it (a budget option), repair it with decent parquet, or choose something completely unusual — the market of building materials offers many options. Engineered parquet is an expensive material, but its use for flooring is eco-friendly, and moreover your home's interior acquires unique elite characteristics. Another possible option is solid wood planks. They are not as exquisite as bamboo parquet, but nonetheless are excellent for apartments and individual houses. There are many ways to finish them: oil or lacquer coatings, and the use of various artificial effects will bring special features to the interior. In general, the search for flooring should be approached with great care. Engineered boards, solid planks, and terrace decking for country houses are very tricky materials and are difficult to fasten yourself, so it is best to entrust the installation to people who know what they are doing.

After successful completion of these steps you can proceed to install various small items (sockets, bulbs, switches, etc.), and then bring in the furniture and welcome your friends.
