What to consider when choosing a reliable delivery service
Choosing a Delivery Service
Choosing a courier service to entrust with urgent matters, such as the delivery of letters or documents, is not an easy task. You need to be confident that the express delivery you order will be carried out reliably. To save time, you need to decide: how often and in what situations do you need a delivery service? Will this be a periodic collaboration because you need regular document delivery? Or do you need a delivery service occasionally, for example to deliver a gift or a bouquet to loved ones? Or perhaps you want to entrust the courier service with daily delivery of the press? Will the delivery service be your partner, or will the company where you work cooperate with it to order express mail and courier mailings?
By answering these questions, you will be able to choose a courier service more quickly. Later, when the time comes to negotiate with the delivery service managers, you will be able to answer all their clarifying questions and explain what result you expect without wasting time.
In a not-very-small city there will surely be more than a few dozen companies offering courier services. If you use advertising publications as a source of information, a prospective client of a delivery service will easily find many ads in the relevant sections with phrases such as: advertising distribution, express delivery. And the Internet will provide even more information about offers from various courier services than the print press.
Contacting all delivery services that advertise themselves one way or another is a task as impractical as it is pointless. Having spent a lot of time, you may end up not ordering the postal services you started searching for, whether it's delivering letters or a birthday bouquet — since the birthday will have passed and the documents will have become outdated. It is important not to get carried away with searching for the sake of searching, but to highlight the essential points.
Almost every courier service has a website, which is more informative than a newspaper ad. How many years has the company been providing courier services? Does the company have branches, and in which cities and countries? Review the list of services offered by the delivery service and information on special terms of cooperation: for example, discounts for regular use of express mail. Then the courier service that is ideal for you will be found!
On June 26, 2013, the House of Representatives of the Republic of Belarus adopted in the first reading amendments to the Law "On Postal Communications." One of the innovations — the document proposes to regulate courier services by law. The concepts of "courier communication" and "courier services" are enshrined. At the same time, courier communication is singled out as a separate type of postal communication.
Minister of Communications and Informatization Nikolay Panteley said: "These services effectively exist, but they are not legally regulated in the country in any way. It is envisaged that this will be licensed as a type of postal activity. The rules for providing courier services, as well as the rules for providing postal services, will be approved by the Council of Ministers."
He also said: "This draft law deprives 'Belpochta' of a number of monopoly positions. This includes the delivery of letters weighing up to two kilograms and other items. We are moving to demonopolize the market, but we must understand that there are universal postal services whose provision is guaranteed by the state."
The bill adopted today in the first reading also specifies that tariffs for postal services will be set by the operator independently.
