Google acquires AdMob: a turning point in mobile advertising.

News Feed: Google Corporation Acquires AdMob

One of the largest Internet companies, Google, recently announced the acquisition of AdMob for $750 million, AFP reports. AdMob is one of the providers of various solutions for mobile advertising.

According to news reports, the world-famous corporation Google hopes that AdMob will help expand revenue from Internet advertising in the rapidly growing market of various mobile devices. Google’s Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, Susan Wojcicki (Сьюзен Воджиски), said that mobile advertising has considerable potential as a marketing medium. Susan Wojcicki (Сьюзен Воджиски) also noted that AdMob has made quite exceptional progress in a relatively short time.

Susan Wojcicki (Сьюзен Воджиски) stated that in the near future Google will be able to offer advertisers entirely new marketing technologies that are fully integrated into all existing systems. Once this process is completed, all potential advertisers will be able to work with AdMob’s multimedia formats. Mobile site owners, in the first place, will receive a completely new way to monetize their traffic.

Google is continually entering new markets for selling its services. Recently Google released a new beta version of Google Maps Navigation, which includes a GPS navigator feature. All software (SW) is distributed free of charge. For Maps Navigation to work, access to a wireless Internet connection is required. Google also plans to launch an iTunes competitor, its own similar music service. This new Google project has been named Google Audio. Google Maps for Mobile 2.0 is a unique application for mobile devices that is currently undergoing testing, but according to developers will soon run on Sony Ericsson phones and smartphones running Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition.
