Belarusian Santa’s home in Białowieża Forest — a festive attraction.

Residence of the Belarusian Ded Moroz

In December 2003, the residence of the Belarusian Ded Moroz opened on the territory of the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park. He is the kindest of the fairy-tale characters.

The residence includes the Ded Moroz estate itself, with a throne hall and a study on the first floor, and a bedroom and balcony on the second. A more modest, single-story cottage of Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden) stands to the side.

Meetings with Ded Moroz in Belovezhskaya Pushcha are possible year-round. In the winter period Ded Moroz meets guests together with his granddaughter — Snegurochka.

A visit to the estate will leave wonderful impressions from interacting with Ded Moroz.

There you can see sculptural compositions illustrating various fairy tales, characters of the Eastern calendar, gnomes, different little animals, and make secret wishes. No one will remain indifferent to the 40-meter living New Year tree, carved sculptures, the house of Ded Moroz, Snegurochka, the Skarbnitsa (treasury) where drawings, letters and children's crafts sent to Ded Moroz are kept, as well as some items of old household life.

Letters to Ded Moroz in Belovezhskaya Pushcha come from different countries around the world. You can write to him at: 225063, Brest Region, Kamenets District, village Kameniuki.

At the open-air market stalls of the "Estate" you can taste shashlik, blini (pancakes), tea made from Pushcha herbs, and purchase souvenirs and printed materials.

In November 2006 the Belarusian Ded Moroz took part in the International Forum of New Year and Christmas Characters, which was held in Moscow and Vologda. On December 3, 2006, Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the "Residence of the Belarusian Ded Moroz" were visited by the Finnish Santa Claus.

At the entrance to the estate visitors are greeted by two wooden knights — Dub-Dubovich and Vyaz-Vyazovich. To get into Ded Moroz's domain you must truly believe in miracles, immerse yourself in the fairy-tale world, and ask the magical knights to allow you into the fairy-tale estate. Right behind the gates visitors are greeted by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs; tourists will also be able to see many, many more fairy-tale characters: the Frog Princess, the Twelve Months, Buratino — too many to list.

At the windmill you can mentally give away all your bad thoughts and misdeeds, so that afterwards, with a clear conscience, you can go and make your most cherished wish at the huge (over 40 m tall) living fir. Where else to make wishes if not at Ded Moroz's New Year tree?!

The Residence of the Belarusian Ded Moroz is open year-round without days off. Its opening hours coincide with the working hours of the park's Nature Museum — from 9:00 to 18:00.
